On April 3, 2019, in Copenhagen, within the framework of the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by President Rustam Minnikhanov, a ceremony of signing an agreement on cooperation between the Haldor Topsoe, a world leading company in catalyst manufacturing, and KNRTU took place.

KNRTU has a long-lasting and effective cooperation with Haldor Topsoe in the field of education. The KNRTU Boarding School has a specialized class named after the company's founder, Dr. Haldor Topsoe. Students of the KNRTU Boarding School participate in the Olympiad organized by Haldor Topsoe, and its winners receive scholarships for internship in Copenhagen. The company also provided scholarships for KNRTU students to study at master’s degree programs at the Danish Technical University.

The scientific and technological cooperation between KNRTU and Haldor Topsoe is also getting stronger. Last year, the joint research project on creating innovative solutions for the production of synthetic fuels and fuel additives from light hydrocarbons was completed.

The new agreement, which was signed by the CEO of Haldor Topsoe Bjerne Clausen and the KNRTU Rector Sergey Yushko, concerns the using of supercritical fluid technologies for catalyst regeneration. The new energy- and resource-efficient technologies developed by the KNRTU scientists under the supervision of Farid Gumerov, Head of the Theoretical Foundations of Heat Engineering Department, allow the effective implementation of the catalyst regeneration process even for expensive catalysts, which contain palladium, molybdenum, nickel, platinum and silver. This agreement is set for two years.
