On April 12, 2019, the delegation from Turkmenistan headed by Director of the National Institute of Education Bayram Bashimov visited KNRTU.

The program of the visit included meetings with KNRTU Rector, Vice Rector and Heads of Departments, as well as with students from Kazan universities, who came to study from Turkmenistan.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the possibilities of cooperation between KNRTU and Turkmenistan in the field of training specialists for Turkmenistan industrial enterprises, as well as to find out, what conditions of stay and study KNRTU offers to Turkmen students.
Other participants of the visit were Berdimyrat Charyyev, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli, Amanguly Magtymov, professor of the Geography Department of the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli, and Begench Orazmammedov, First Secretary of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation.
KNRTU is traditionally one of the most attractive Russian universities for Turkmen youth. “We have about 500 Turkmen students a year in nine majors on average for many years,” said Alexey Burmistrov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, “as a rule, they quickly develop professionally and make a career after graduation from a university.”
Students had the opportunity to speak out and ask guests questions. Most of all, they were interested in the opportunity to get a practical training in Russia and employment prospects with a Russian diploma in their homeland. Many words of gratitude were also expressed to the leadership of both countries and educational institutions, who contributed a lot to the possibility for young people from Turkmenistan to get higher education in Russia.
