NEW RUSSIAN-CHINESE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM ON PETROCHEMISTRY MAY START AT KNRTU

Delegation from China visited KNRTU on July 21. Representatives of Liaoning Petrochemical College, headed by Vice Rector Liu Zhaohui, discussed issues of cooperation with the university administration.

KNRTU Rector Yuri Kazakov remarked in his welcoming speech that the administration visited Liaoning last year and thanked the international guests for their hospitality.

"We have had a profound demonstration of Liaoning Petrochemical College scientific facilities and found the university infrastructure particularly impressive. We are still sharing positive impressions with our industrial partners. Today, we will be glad to demonstrate the KNRTU scientific capacities and show the Institute of Petroleum, Chemistry and Nanotechnology laboratories. The following day we are having a visit to the Nizhnekamsk branch, in order to represent infrastructure related to practice–oriented training of specialists."

Dilbar Sultanova, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Yulia Ziyatdinova, Director of the Institute of Additional Professional Education, Ildar Akhmetov, Director of the Nizhnekamsk Institute of Chemical Technology, Natalia Bashkirtseva, Director of the Institute of Petroleum Chemistry and Nanotechnology, Marina Galimzyanova, Director of the Department of International Affairs attended the meeting.

Dilbar Sultanova provided the guests from China with introductory information about the university, emphasizing its participation in the federal projects "Priority 2030" and "Advanced Engineering Schools". The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs noted that KNRTU ranks second in Russia in terms of the number of students who are being trained for employment in the petrochemical industry.

The main meeting focus was the discussion of a joint educational program in the areas of training "Petrochemical technology" and "Oil refining technology". The KNRTU administration offered to organize a student exchange, a summer school in Liaoning, remote Russian and Chinese language courses. The Chinese delegation also expressed its willingness to provide the best conditions for graduates of the future program and to introduce them to their language and culture. The parties discussed the conditions for implementation of the program within the framework of the agreement on cooperation in the educational program in fields of "Oil refining technology" and "Petrochemical technology".

A dialogue between international guests and KNRTU academic staff took place during the visit.

"The academic staff asked questions about the peculiarities of teaching process at Liaoning Institute. The parties also discussed student training, lectures and practical classes. Chinese partners talked about the possibilities and features of organizing the educational process on the basis of LPC, and also presented prospects for joint cooperation," said Marina Galimzyanova, Director of the International Affairs.
