On April 16-17, 2018, the Acting Rector of Kazan National Research Technological University – Dr. Sergey Yushko visited India as a member of the delegation of Tatarstan.

In the framework of the visit, the representatives of the delegation discussed the prospects for cooperation between Tatarstan and India at the «Andhra Pradesh – Tatarstan» and «Telanaga-Tatarstan» business forums.

Indian goods, including tea, spices, textile, pharmaceuticals, various equipment and other goods are widely represented on the Tatarstan market. Last year, the volume of trade amounted to 215 million US dollars. According to Tatarstan President, there are all opportunities to increase these indicators. «I hope that our visits will give an impetus to our relations and we will be able to exceed these figures,» Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President added that apart from helicopters and trucks, the republic is interested in promoting other products to India, including ships, gas pumping equipment, tires, compressors, medical instruments, other machine-building and petrochemical products.
«We are also interested in developing cooperation in the field of information technology and pharmaceuticals. We would like to cooperate and be your partners,» Minnikhanov stressed.
According to him, there is good potential for expanding contacts in the sphere of culture, education, science and tourism. Over 800 students from India are studying in regional universities today. «We will be glad to increase their number» Minnikhanov added.

Also, the delegation of Tatarstan visited Pharma-City pharmaceutical cluster in the city of Visakhapatnam to get acquainted with the activities of Aurobindo Pharma Company manufacturing drugs. They had a series of meetings with the senior executives of the Ramky Group of companies, the managing company of Pharma City and the Export Council for Medicines of India (Pharmexcil) as well as meetings with Governor of states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Ekkadu Srinivasan Lakshmi Narasimhan and senior executives of Mahindra Company (car industry, farm machinery) in the city of Hyderabad - one of the most important centers of Indian industry and trade. In addidion, the delegation visit India's largest business incubator «T-Hub», the Indian Business School (ISB) and the Microsoft campus.

Summarizing the results of the visit, Dr. Sergey Yushko noted that parties expressed their great interest in mutual collaboration as in industry and IT so in education: «Representatives of Indian enterprises – producers of mineral fertilizers, pharmaceutics and cosmetics are interested in training their employees in KNRTU. We have appropriate study programs» he said.
