KNRTU Boarding School student won the training at Haldor Topsoe (Denmark)

In the spring of 2018, students of the KNRTU Boarding School for Talented Children took part in the international contest organized by Haldor Topsoe. Ekaterina Ilyina won the contest and her prize was a trip to Denmark to visit the Haldor Topsoe factory for training.

During the autumn holidays, on 4 - 10 November, 2018, Ekaterina Ilyina and Evgeniya Franova, the chemistry teacher of the highest qualification category, had a trip to the Haldor Topsoe factory. They had an opportunity to find out about the company’s products. At Haldor Topsoe, different catalysts are developed, studied, improved and produced. There is also a production of batteries. Besides, they visited laboratories and tried themselves as workers performing a particular technological operation.

Haldor Topsoe is a leader in catalysis and studying the physicochemical surface properties. The technologies offered by the company are used all over the world in order to improve environmental health and the life quality. The company pays great attention to cooperation with educational institutions in different countries. The catalysis classroom named after Dr. Haldor Topsoe is organized in the KNRTU Boarding School for Talented Children in order to increase the level of students' knowledge and familiarize themselves with the chemical technologies used in production, and also aims to orient the students to a conscious choice of profession.
