Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Hold the Meeting with KNRTU International Students

On September 15, in the Round Hall of Building A representatives of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan met with KNRTU international students.

In total, students from 44 countries study at KNRTU, 151 of which are the citizens of Kazakhstan. Vice Rector for Educational and Social Work Albina Shavaleeva noted that there are many talented young people among Kazakh students, who, besides, are rather proficient in Russian language. Today KNRTU has a number of cooperation agreements with Kazakh universities. Besides, in December 2020, an agreement on the creation of Consortium of technical education of Russia and Kazakhstan was signed.

Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kazan Yerlan Iskakov presented to the audience a video dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the closure of the Semipalatinsk nuclear weapons test site, which was, according to this video, facilitated by the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, who contributed to ensuring the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and the formation of a regional and global security system.

The Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Policy and Business Administration Andrey Tuzikov told about the history of nuclear weapons creation and its testing in different countries. He emphasized the crucial role Republic of Kazakhstan played when proposed the draft resolution of the comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban treaty, signed on September 10, 1996.

At the end of the meeting, First Secretary of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kazan Ilyas Tursunbayev urged students to register with the consulate, comply with migration legislation and public order in the country of residence.
