KNRTU Became the Winner of the Priority 2030 Program

On September 27, the minister of science and higher education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov announced the results of the selection of applications for participation in the universities state support program Priority 2030. Our university entered the list of the receivers of the grant’s basic part in the amount of 100 million rubles.

The results of the competition commission’s assessment of the universities strategic projects were announced at the press conference that was held in the Russian News Agency TASS. KNRTU team, headed by the acting rector Yury Kazakov presented its strategic project on September 18, at the commission meeting, which Valery Falkov personally attended.

According to the minister, representatives of academic communities and industries, as well as federal and regional authorities took part in the applications assessment process. “The commission has been assessing neither the universities current achievements nor their scientific potential and image, but the projects themselves, rectors and their teams, support from the regional industrial sectors. We also paid attention to how the project meets the national development goals and the regional agenda, as well as to the industry demands”. The minister noted that the grants were awarded to those universities, which put forward the most interesting projects and demonstrated the way they are planning to interact with other academic and scientific institutions and to transform within the next decade.

Priority 2030 is the most ambitious state support program in the country's history ever, focused on the development of higher education organizations. The goal is to select and support at least 100 of the most progressive universities in the country by 2030.

On the results of the assessment, 106 universities were selected, including 80 universities subordinated to the Ministry of science and higher education of the Russian Federation. There are 28 Moscow and 11 St. Petersburg universities among the winners.

4 universities from the Republic of Tatarstan, including KNRTU received the basic part of the grant. It’s worth mentioning that only KFU and KNRTU strategic projects were recommended for consideration by the Council for the Support of Programs for the Development of Higher Education Institutions within the framework of the Priority 2030 program for receiving a special part of the grant, that is from 700 million to 1.2 billion rubles annually.
