On June 2, the winners of the 10th Anniversary International Student Olympiad in Statistics, which was held by Federal State Statistics Service and the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, were announced. Olympiad gathered students from 86 universities located in various parts of the country.

The final was held in a remote format for the first time in 10 years. 18 teams reached the final: from Saint Petersburg and Yakutsk, Velikiye Luki and Kazan, Novosibirsk and Orel, Amursk and Kirov.

Participants needed to prepare the following tasks: scientific and analytical work on the problems and tasks of the all-Russian population census; presentation of a comic book about the basics of statistics and the role of the all – Russian population census; additional tasks - poems, stories on the topic of statistics.

Our University took the second place in the group, which includes universities that participate in the Olympiad for less than 5 years. The team was formed of students from the Faculty of Industrial Policy and Business Administration studying in the field of Economics, Mathematical Methods in Economics profile. It included Kristina Zakharova (gr. 326171), Adilya Khuzeeva (326171), Alina Matalieva (327171). Head - Anna V. Aksyanova.

The KNRTU team was congratulated on its victory by representatives of Federal State Statistics Service of the Republic of Tatarstan ("Tatarstanstat").
