KNRTU Strengthens Cooperation with Turkmenistan

On July 27, Atadurdy Bayramov, Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan, met with the Acting Rector of KNRTU - Yury Kazakov. The conversation concerned the conditions of study and living of students - citizens of Turkmenistan.

The Consul General noted the high level of education in our University and thanked the University's management for supporting foreign students. KNRTU graduates are good specialists and hold high positions in enterprises of Turkmenistan. In turn, Yury Kazakov expressed gratitude for the initiative of the meeting and stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the domain of education and science.

Alexey Burmistrov, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, told about the success stories of students from Turkmenistan. Thus, a graduate of KNRTU - Ravil Khaliulin (who was also attending the meeting) works at the Faculty of International Educational Programs (FIEP) and he supervises fellow students. Svetlana Matveeva, Dean of FIEP, spoke about talented foreign students, emphasizing their discipline and responsiveness.

The Consul General raised the issues of tuition fees and accommodation in the dormitory. He assured that he would provide assistance to students who have problems with payment. Also, Mr. Bayramov noted that if restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic are weakened, it is planned to carry Days of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in Turkmenistan, as well as sports events. During the conversation, the issue of opening a representative office of the Kazan National Research Technological University in Turkmenistan was actively discussed.
