The eighth fair of innovative projects was held in Belgorod on the basis of the space for collective work «Boiling Point». Venture accelerator StartUp: Land Industrial provides an opportunity for young scientists and start-up entrepreneurs to undergo training, as well as meet a potential partner to create and implement a project.
This year, 30 projects of participants from 14 cities of Russia and neighboring countries were considered at the Fair. Representatives of «Metalloinvest Holding Company» OJSC, «VEB Engineering» LLC, «Russian Railways» OJSC, «Skolkovo» Innovation Center, the Government of the Belgorod Region and «Technopark-Lipetsk» acted as experts.
After an eight-hour presentation, the jury determined the best startups that will receive support and the possibility of implementation in the Belgorod Region. Almaz Aetov, Master student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of KNRTU, entered the top three winners with the project «Processing of Industrial Waste and Waste Water Using Supercritical Fluid».
«I am glad that I became the winner, because most of the startups represented by the participants concerned waste recycling and environmental analysis. The choice in favor of my project once again suggests that the oxidation technology, carried out in an aqueous medium under supercritical fluid (SCF) conditions, is one of the environmentally friendly methods of processing industrial and household waste. The results of studying the possibilities of using SCF media in technological processes indicate that these technologies can be one of the important tools and possible directions for building an innovative economy. Such Fairs offer assistance in the commercialization of innovative development and looking for an investor. We are given a real chance to meet a potential partner for the creation and implementation of a pilot project. Thanks to my supervisor - Farid Gumerov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of Heat Engineering Department, and to the Department of Educational and Project Activities of Students for advice on participation»- said Almaz Aetov.
