On February 11, KNRTU organized a working meeting with representatives of KraussMaffei company in Russia.

KraussMaffei is a world leader in the development and production of polymer processing equipment. The company was established 180 years ago. It offers a wide range of machines for plastic extrusion, injection molding, composite and foam processing.

In 2010, KNRTU signed a tripartite agreement with Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany) and KraussMaffei initiated by Prof. Svyatoslav I.Volfson, Head of the Department of Chemistry and Processing Technology of Elastomers. Later on the Department was equipped with unique twin screw extruder and injection molding machines to carry out collaborate research.

The meeting was attended by Konstantin Tyutko, Head of KraussMaffai division in the Volga region (Russia) and Zakhar Antonovsky, Deputy General Director.

Yury M. Kazakov, Acting Rector of KNRTU, expressed interest in establishing a joint scientific and engineering training center with KraussMaffai on the basis of the University and offered to join the Consortium called New Materials as an industrial partner.

Both sides discussed the step-by-step creation of this joint center for training students and employees of industrial enterprises and conducting scientific research.
