On July 7, our university was visited by the counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation Nurbolat A. Andasov and assistant to the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kazan Laura R. Ramazanova. The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Dilbar Sh. Sultanova and the Head of International Affairs Anna O. Ebel attended this meeting.
First of all, Nurbolat Andasov emphasized the importance of the Russian-Kazakh cooperation and drew attention to a considerable joint experience our countries have gained by today in the fields of education and science. Dilbar Sultanova put stress on a great potential and ambitiousness of Kazakh students, the majority of which were enrolled at KNRTU through Rossotrudnichestvo tuition scholarship programs.
At the meeting the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs reported on the university key activities both in the field of science and education, as well as in the industrial sector. Special attention was paid to such priority areas as food production and biotechnology, polymer production, oil and gas engineering, automation of technological processes.
Anna Ebel delivered a speech on KNRTU international activities, including cooperation with educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 12 cooperation agreements have been signed with Kazakh organizations so far, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, with which "Green Technologies based on Supercritical Fluids" program was implemented, Satbayev University and Kyzylorda state university named after Korkyt ata, which we organize active academic exchange with. Among the key partners of KNRTU the Head of International Affairs also mentioned D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan technical university (student mobility in the framework of "Medical Engineering" training program) and Atyrau Oil and Gas University (joint network education programs in polymer and petrochemistry).
Nurbolat Andasov noted the need for promoting targeted cooperation between KNRTU and the Republic of Kazakhstan and put forward the idea of implementing joint R&D in order to improve the quality of higher technical vocational education and scientific research in Russia and Kazakhstan. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on developing partnership in the following areas: implementation of Bachelor and Master double degree joint network education programs, attraction of faculty from universities of Kazakhstan for their taking advanced training courses at the institute of additional professional education, as well as students for studying under "Chemical Technology" and "Automation of technological processes" programs.
