Students of the Department of IT Security entered the finals of the accelerator program “Energy Laboratory” supported by En+ Group. The event was held at the Irkutsk National Research Technical University and was aimed at finding and implementing innovative solutions for energy sector enterprises. The participants had to solve scientific and technical problems in real time.
By the way, two teams from KNRTU became the only finalists representing Tatarstan among 45 participating teams from all over Russia.
Third-year Bachelor’s Degree Students of the Instutute of Chemical Engineering and Technology - Anna Marinina, Nikita Chertilin, Klavdia Egorova, Aidar Salikhov, Ranis Shamilov and Nikita Kudashov - presented their developments - an automated oil film detection system together with unique software. Their innovative product solutions were highly appreciated by the expert committee consisting of leading specialists of the energy industry.
“Participation in the program was an invaluable experience for us. We not only developed our own project, but also learned how to present it properly. During the accelerator, we took an additional professional education program on project management and participated in business games, which helped us to look at our work from a different perspective. This inspires us to continue improving the project and present it at other venues,” shares Nikita Chertilin.
“Our goal was not just to solve the proposed problem, but to create an innovative solution that can be implemented at enterprises. We are very proud that we were able to present KNRTU among the best, and we want to continue to develop the project,” says Klavdia Egorova.
An important part of the program was regular consultations with En+ experts who guided the students at every stage of their work. A memorable and additional source of inspiration for the students was a visit to Lake Baikal, organized as a part of the program.
