On March 27, 2014, the Vice Rector for Research of Ilmenau University of Technology, Germany - Dr. Klaus Augsburg visited KNRTU to discuss collaboration opportunities and development of joint academic programs in the engineering areas, corresponding to the profile of both universities.

Dr. Augsburg was accompanied by Deputy Head of Machine-building complex Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan – Ivan Kolchin.
