The 67th FACS EXCO Meeting was held at KNRTU

On May 18-20, 2015, The 67th FACS(Federation of Asian Chemical Societies) EXCO Meeting & Joint Board/Council Meeting of FACS & KNRTU/MRSC and Joint Symposium with KNRTU were successfully held at our university.

The representatives from Bangladesh, China, Japan, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand took part in the Meeting and Symposium.

large-scale Scientific Forum with Federation of Asian Chemical Societies (FACS) representatives was held at our university. The event comprised three parts: - FACS Executive Committee Meeting; - Joint Board/Council Meeting of FACS & KNRTU/ Mendeleev’s Russian Chemical Society; - Joint Symposium with KNRTU. The participants were represented by the leading scientists and experts from Asian region, KNRTU professors, representatives of Russian and Tatarstan Republic chemical societies. In welcome speech First Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Vasiliy Ivanov emphasized that modern Kazan brings the traditions of world-famous Kazan chemical scientific school. For this very reason Kazan was chosen as a host city for the Forum. History of Kazan chemical scientific school was a subject of speech of Professor Oleg Sinyashin, Director of the A.E. Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry that celebrates the 70th Anniversary in 2015. Oleg Sinyashin told that performed research includes chemistry of phosphorus, supermolecular chemistry, electrochemistry of chemical synthesis, and petro chemistry. Asian scientists were interested in the Tatarstan experience in the petroleum and gas industry. Ilgizar Yakushev, Deputy Director General of Tatarstan Chemistry Investment Holding “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding”, gave a presentation of industry branches. Collaboration with foreign companies is an essential component of the effective development. Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex OJSC TANECO is a strong example of such collaboration. KNRTU is highly recognized as a main training center for all region industry specialists.
