On August 30, 2015, Kazan National Research Technological University signed the memorandum of cooperation with Haldor Topsoe A/S in the framework of the opening of the XII European Congress on Catalysis.
Speaking at an opening of the XII European Congress on Catalysis – EuropaCat – 2015 at the Piramida Cultural and Entertainment Complex, Interim President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov said that the republic is willing to learn and use the experience and achievements of specialists – participants of the XII European Congress on Catalysis – EuropaCat – 2015 “Catalysis: Balancing the use of fossil and renewable resources.”
Minnikhanov reminded that representatives from more than 60 countries are participating in the forum. He wished them all good work and pleasant stay in Kazan.
He briefed about Tatarstan as a Russian center of oil refining and petrochemistry, with specialized educational and research centers.
"We will try to establish direct contacts, learn and use your experience," Minnikhanov said, addressing the congress participants.
The Memorandum of cooperation between KNRTU and Haldor Topsoe was signed by the Rector of KNRTU – Dr. German Dyakonov and Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Haldor Topsoe – Dr. Jesper Nerlov.
Under the Memorandum the parties agreed to collaborate in such areas as joint research, development and design projects, exchange of scientists taking part in joint projects, organizing joint science and technology conferences and seminars, participation of KNRTU Bachelor degree students at the Industrial Track Honors Program in MSc Chemical and Biochemical Engineering in the Technical University of Denmark, participation of KNRTU PhD students in the Topsoe PhD Grand Program and other areas of cooperation in the field of science, technology and education.
