On November 16-19, 2015, the Russian-German scientific workshop «Thermochemical Processing of Renewable Feedstock into Fuel, Chemicals and Polymers» was held at Kazan National Research Technological University.

The aim of the workshop was to establish and strengthen the relations between Russian and German scientists, institutes and representatives of state structures for the organization of joint research and educational programs in the field of thermochemical biomass conversion. The workshop included presentations of Russian and German institutes and scientific groups, round tables and discussions.
In the framework of the event, Dr. Gregor Berghorn, the head of German House of Science and Innovations in Moscow (DWIH), made his presentation “Scholarship programs of DAAD”.
During the visit to Kazan and KNRTU, the participants of the workshop visited the pilot plant of fast ablative pyrolysis located in Kazan’s suburb, KNRTU laboratories and departments, had meetings with KNRTU professors and discussed the prospects of collaboration. The program of the workshop included a rich cultural program as well.
