The Department of Analytical Chemistry, Certification and Quality Management is one of the oldest departments of our University. It was created in 1930. The founder of the Department was famous chemist A.M. Vasilyev.

The Department takes an active part in International and Federal research programs and wins grants. The department cooperates with Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Institute for Nuclear studies in Warsaw,Leibniz Institute for Catalysis at the University of Rostockin Germany. Due to the highly qualified teachers and modern instrumentation, the department not only teaches a general education course in analytical chemistry, but also actively participates in the special training of students of technological specialties at KNRTU.The department provides lecture courses and analytical laboratory workshops in special disciplines: - Methods of control and certification of biotechnological products, Environmental monitoring for the areas of "Biotechnology" and "Energy and resource-saving processes in chemical technology, petrochemistry and biotechnology" at the bachelor's level; - Methods of studying the properties of raw materials and food, Food safety management systems for the bachelor's degree program "Food from vegetable raw materials"; - Methods of research and certification of products of fermentation industries for the direction of "Chemical technology" at the master's level; - Control of the environmental safety of production facilities and products for the direction of "Technosphere safety" of the master's degree level; - Physico-chemical fundamentals of nanotechnology", Metrology, standardization and technical measurements, Solid State Chemistry, Technical regulation in the field of nanotechnology, Quality Management for the Bachelor's and Master's degree levels of Nanoengineering.

Academics

The Department offers two Specialist Degree programs “Standardization and Certification”, and “Quality Management”. The Department alumni have a career as creative research scholars or industrial managers.
