History

The Department of Plastics Technology was established by Professor Evgeny Kuznetsov in 1958. He made a great contribution to the department's research and education process. The Department had become a leader in training specialists in plastics technology and processing by 1986.

The Department of Plastics Processing Technology was separated from the Department of Plastics Technology in 1974 under the leadership of Professor Aleksey Bоgdanov and, as a result, there appeared the Department of Plastics Processing Technology.

In 1975, the Department of Plastics Technology added a new engineering specialization: "Technology of Filming/Photography Materials”.

In 2004, the separate Department “Technology of Printing Processes and Filming/Photography Materials” combined the two majors "Technology of Filming/Photography Materials and Magnetic Carriers" and "Technology of Printing Processes".

The Department trains specialists for chemical industry who successfully apply their knowledge and skills in polymers processing, development of new synthesis processes and polymer materials properties analysis.

Academics

The Department prepares specialists for the chemical industry, who will be responsible for obtaining, processing and application of polymers, development of new processes of synthesis and research of properties of polymer materials.
