History

The Department was established in 1938 under the leadership of Professor A. Aleksandrov. At present, the Department is chaired by Ph.D. in Science, Associate Professor Valery G. Makarov.

Academics

Since 2006 the Department has been implementing a full-time Master’s Degree Program in Production Methods of Electric and Heat Energy.

Due to the high qualification of lecturers and up-to-date computer facilities our graduates receive not only deep theoretical knowledge but also valuable applied skills. This makes their employment opportunities very promising for being hired by large enterprises of petroleum, chemical, energy industry of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation. The best alumni are able to continue education at Master’s Degree and Ph.D. Degree programs of the University.

Research Activities

The Department is oriented towards the following research topics:

• Adjustable-frequency electric drive of alternating drive;
• Wind power engineering;
• Eddy current heating;
• Valve and inductor electric drive.

Nowadays the Department employs 1 Full Professor and 13 Ph.D, Associate Professors.
