History

The Department of Food Biotechnology was established in 2004 by dividing the Department of Industrial Biotechnology.

Academics

The Department offers the following educational programs:

Bachelor's Degree Programs:

  • 19.03.01 Biotechnology (in the following fields: Food Biotechnology; Pharmaceutical Biotechnology);
  • 19.03.02 Food Products from Plant-Based Feedstock (Technology of Functional Nutrition Products and Biologically Active Additives).

Master's Degree Programs:

  • 19.04.01 Biotechnology (Biotechnology of Biologically Active Additives Production);
  • 19.04.01 Biotechnology (Food Biotechnology);
  • 19.04.01 Biotechnology (Pharmaceutical Biotechnology).

Postgraduate Program:

  • 19.06.01 Industrial Ecology and Biotechnology (Biotechnology of Food Products and Biologically Active Substances).

Research Activities

The scientific areas include: biotechnology of complex processing of plant, animal and waste derived raw materials into competitive products of food, feed, medical, technical purposes and for ensuring environmental safety.
