History

The Department was established in 1991 due to the start of the first Specialist Degree Program “Machines and Apparatus of Food Production”. The Department has launched the Specialist Degree Program “Technology of Fermentation Production and Winemaking” since 1994, and Specialist Degree Program “Technology of Tinned Food and Food Concentrates” since 1997.

The Department offers the following educational programs:

Bachelor's Degree Programs:

19.03.02 Food Products from Plant-Based Feedstock in the following fields:

  • Technology of Fermentation Production and Winemaking;
  • Quality Expertise and Technology of Fermentation Production and Winemaking Products.

Master's Degree Programs:

  • 15.04.02 Technological Machines and Equipment (Machines and Equipment of Industrial Ecology);
  • 19.03.04 Food Products from Plant Feedstock (Modern Technologies of Fermentation Production).

Specialist Degree Programs:

  • 170600 Machines and Apparatuses of Food Productions;
  • 270500 Technology of Fermentation Production and Winemaking;
  • 270800 Technology of Canned Food and Food Concentrates.

    Research Activities

    Scientific areas of the Department include:

    • Development of technology and equipment for purification of industrial gas emissions and environmental protection;
    • Development of modern methods of quality assessment and expertise of alcohol-containing products;
    • Improvement of technology and products of alcoholic beverages production;
    • Obtaining food powders from plant-based feedstock of functional purpose.
