History

Department of Food Engineering at Small Enterprises was founded in 2006 and since then it has been chaired by Full Professor Mstislav A. Polivanov.

Academics

The Department offers the following educational programs:

Bachelor's Degree Program:

  • 15.03.02 Technological Machines and Equipment (Food Engineering of Small Enterprises).

Master's Degree Programs:

  • 15.04.02 Technological Machines and Equipment (Business Management in Food Industry);
  • 19.04.03 Food Products of Animal Origin (Innovative Technologies of Aquatic Biological Resources Processing).

Research Activities

Scientific areas of the Department include:

  • Development of resource-saving technologies for plant feedstock complex processing into food, feed and technical purpose products, including from genetically modified agricultural feedstock;
  • Development of resource-saving technologies of complex processing of hydrobionts for food, feed and technical purposes;
  • Study of the characteristics of starch and its derivatives, as well as food additives;
  • Development of prebiotics technology in animal feeding and bioproducts technology with the use of immobilized bioagents;
  • Application of electrochemical and mechanochemical methods for processing plant-based feedstock to obtain feed and food components.
